ImmunoLin: Sports Nutrition

ImmunoLin brings more than a new natural protein source to the market. In general, the immune system is suppressed by intensive training, with many factors being reduced or disturbed during the hours following a workout. This places athletes at an increased risk of succumbing to an infectious illness during this time.

Many nutrients or dietary factors have been proposed as an aid to the immune system - for example, vitamins C and E, glutamine, zinc and echinacea - but none of these have proved to provide the universal protection that is likely to be achieved with ImmunoLin. It also serves as a supply of both immunomodulatory and growth-promoting peptides that will be a promising addition to the nutrition regimen of fitness enthusiasts:

IgG:
  • protects against pathogens
  • lowers natural immune reactions
IGF-1: Insulin Growth Factor-1
  • produced primarily in the liver via a conversion of HGH (Human Growth Hormone)
  • HGH is secreted by the pituitary gland and is essential for growth and optimum immune system function.
  • IGF-1 has been shown to increase the transport of amino acids into muscle cells throughout the body, thus regenerating these tissues after exercise
  • According to European researchers IGF-1:
    - initiates the transport of nucleic acids into the nucleus of the cell where DNA resides
    - provides the raw material needed to repair damage to the DNA and initiates cell division.
TGFB: Transforming growth factor-beta
  • anti-inflammatory
  • helps in recovery
  • beneficial in repairing extreme rips

ImmunoLin components share many similarities with those found in colostrum. The biggest difference being that ImmunoLin is lactose and casein free and has a higher concentration of many important immunoglobulin compounds. While there are few clinical studies currently published involving the use of ImmunoLin, it is likely that it has many of the same effects as colostrum. ImmunoLin is produced more cost efficiently than colostum, culminating in the same type of results at a lower cost.

Many of the published studies have been done using porcine test subjects due to their physiological similarities they share with humans. One such study published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2000 showed the following results (Jiang et al):

Effects of Dietary Plasma Proteins (PP) on
Lean Tissue Growth of Young Weaned Pigs

As you can see the daily gain in young weaned pigs was approximately 22% greater among the pigs fed plasma protein.

The lower urea levels in the plasma fed pigs show that they are utilizing their bodies amino acids instead of breaking them down into urea nitrogen approximately 20% more efficiently than the control group.

During the study the plasma fed subjects utilized their body’s protein from 31-10% more efficiently than the control group.

Both bovine plasma and serum greatly reduce the bodies expression of pro inflammatory cytokine production.
